Style | Modern Gothic

24 September 2014
So as A/W sets in and the weather starts getting cooler, the new trends start appearing in the shops. I'm not a massive trend follower, I just wear what I like and end up getting a few pieces over the months that I see and end up realising there are certain trends I like.

Looking at whats coming up in A/W is always my favourite as they are my favourite months as I find I always feel comfortable and confident in warm but stylish clothing. I decide to embrace a new trend to see how I could style it as I want to get better at that so I took on the 'modern victorian' trend and make it my own in a way that I would wear it!
What I like about this trend is that its basically mixing lace with black textures which really appealed to me. So online I went and in my wardrobe I searched for clothes, to see what I could come up with and this is the final outcome. I ended up really loving the trend and I can't wait to get more pieces this season to start mixing my own girly/grunge looks which is the kinds of look I normally go for anyway.

ASOS / Pretty Midi Skater Dress  / Vintage Necklace / Belt
River Island / Coat
New Look / White chunky heels

I hope you like the look! Let me know if you want to style up any other trends?
What trends have you been loving lately?

Beauty | Autumn Nail Varnish Picks

21 September 2014
Today I thought I would share with you my Autumn polish picks from my collection that I will be grabbing a lot over the nest few months. This month has been one of the craziest yet and we're only half way through! Its nice to say I can actually relax and do what I want today, no packing or worrying about setting up the internet. Just a day of seeing family and getting my head back together, I'll carry on worrying tomorrow...

First up are my more 'Autumn' colours. Pink and red hues are perfect transitional colours into the colder months and represent the October leaves as they start to turn those gorgeous golden colours.

Ciate Mini in Boudoir is a red polish I tend to always grab, even in the warmer months but giving that its perfect for A/W, especially with a matching red lip I have an even better excuse to wear it even more. This is what I would call a pillarbox red so it would suit any skin tone and it lasts pretty well on the nail too!

Topshop in Blitz it one of my all time favourites. I havent seen online in a while so I'm not sure if its discontinued or if it will come back in stock, but it needs to! This is such a gorgeous magenta toned polish with gold and green sparkle running through it, which reflects perfectly in the light. Great for parties or evenings out or to add some glamour to your everyday look.

Kiko in 243 plum red is a new addition to my collection. As the name tell you its a plum red shade which is the perfect amount of purple to red ratio which I just love on my fair skintone.
Avon in Noir Emerald is THE most gorgeous colour! Everything about this polish is perfect from the radiant shimmer to the blue mermaid like hues running through it! Get on my nails please and never come off!

Topshop in Plume is another gorgeous metallic which I can't get enough of. Perfect for when it hits party season and the LBDs come out. This is quite an icy metallic colour, full of shimmer and different hues of colour which changes colour in different light. I personally love the pink flect running through it, its just so pretty I cant take my eyes off it.

Topshop in Awol is the nicest hue of blue I have come across in a nail varnish, I just love how bright it is without being too summery. I thought it would be the perfect colour when I want to mix it up a bit with my dark metallics.

What is your favourite A/W nail polish?

Jumper & Jeans / H&M  Shoes / Topshop  Necklace / New Look

Wow hello there middle of September! What a whirlwind you have been.
I have been so busy this month I can not think straight for the life of me. I feel sick to the stomach with all I have to do and my head is a complete blur! Sorting out moving, organising Paris, packing my life away and dealing with life issues has all been too much. I've been trying so hard to get posts done ahead of time but last weekend, this weekend and the one after are all hectic! So I have been throwing on my trusty jeans and jumper combo with my favourite necklace so I can feel half put together while I sort my life out.

I'm a little off the radar at the moment but once I move in at the end of this month I can get back into the full swing of blogging as I have not got any time right now. Paris was amazing though! Beyonce was beyond brilliant and I nearly cried at the emotion of it all. I love Paris a lot, but more on that later. I need sleep so I can actually do my job at work rather than daydreaming all day! opps!

Catch you soon
Have a lovely week

Review | Thea Organic Skincare

13 September 2014
I received these samples of Thea Face Renew Cleanser and Moisturiser a little while ago and was really intrigued to try them as I have been wanting to get more onto organic and natural products. I mainly wanted to see if they were any better than standard products that have lots of nasty ingredients in them. With organic products comes a bigger price tag but they say if you can spend £40 on a pair of shoes, you should do the same for skincare as its a lot better to invest in your skin than anything else, especially as good skin is the basis of good makeup.

First up in my skin routine was the cleanser, now personally I don't like cream cleansers as I've got so used to my micellar waters, but I gave it a go non the less. I found I had to use quite a lot of the product to take all my makeup off but using it as a second cleanse worked really well as it got any excess product off that I may have missed. I loved how it left skin feeling super clean afterwards! I also tried this by applying it using a muslin cloth, which worked a lot better for me.

It had a section on how to use it on the website but I find it's better to find your own personal way to begin with, but in this case using a damp cotton pad or muslin cloth was the best method.
This cleanser is made from lots of great ingredients like Aloe Juice, Green Tea, mango butter and lemon and orange oils. If you don't like scented products this won't be for you as it is heavily scented with strong citrus notes, which I personally love! I enjoyed applying the cleanser as the smell was gorgeous, not as refreshing as some cleansers I have used so I would keep this for my evening routine. After using it for a few weeks my skin does look brighter and slightly more plump.
Next up is the Face Renew Moisturiser. Now I love this compared to the cleanser as this is a really light formula, which is much more suited to my oily skin. The smell wasn't as amazing but I didn't mind so much. This is also made of the same kind of ingredients as the cleanser so if I was to buy the full version I would definitely head for the moisturiser as it gives me the same results being that the ingredients are doing all the hard work.

You can buy a sample of the moisturiser for £8.95 if you wanted to give this brand a go and your into natural and organic products. They also have other ranges for different skin types which you can choose from. Overall I'm quite satisfied with the results. You always expect more when the products are organic but it may just be that natural ingredients that are just doing more good for your skin in general rather than a quick fix that a lot of the animal tested brands give you.

I would like to test some more of their products from the different ranges as thats where I have my skin problems, especially interested in the rosehip and white tea mask for sensitive skin
Is there anything you are interested in you would like me to try?

All products are paraben and cruelty free and are also vegan friendly.

Fashion | #OOTD Bring it on!

10 September 2014

Top,& Bag  / Primark   Skirt / H&M   Shoes / Urban Outfitters   Necklace & Sunglasses / Topshop
Autumn is upon is so it was obvious for me to whip out the leather skirt. Leather and textures are my favourite trends for A/W and I can't wait to get cosy and snug on my sofa with a hot chocolate watching childhood films and reminiscing about good times. I'm never a summer person when it comes to summer as I hate getting my legs out but I was a little better this year but the sun has finally said goodbye for another year and although I'm going to missing the warmth on my face, I feel good things are to come in the future so I'm ready to let go of now and live for tomorrow.

Do you have any plans for Autumn?

Lifestyle | #BLFW Day 2

9 September 2014
Here is the second part to Bloggers Love Fashion week. I decided to go on day 2 as I wouldn't have been able to leave work on time both days and so I opted for this one. I did take more photos but the lighting was really bad when it got darker so they didn't come out at all. I'll have to think of a solution to this for next time.

Me and Jough decided it was appropriate to selfie in the elevator on the way up to Penthouse for the event, we look like Simpsons! yeah! So you can see a little snipet of what I wore to the event but you can see one of my previous posts here where you can see the whole outfit in all its glory. I love this dress as its the perfect mix of monochrome and colour. I can see me wearing this a lot!

FYT & co were at the event showcasing some of their new collection which I think is really pretty. I love the patterns and the accessories were the softest material I had ever felt. After asking I came to realise they were made from bamboo! I couldn't believe it! Who knew that materials like bamboo could be made into products like this? Its a great way of using sustainable materials without it effecting the world in anyway. What a great brand to have in this country. I love how lots of british brands are coming about now which most people appreciate a lot more now the country is starting to get back on it's feet. Support our country folks!

After having a little nose around some of the brands that were there the fashion show kicked in. The first brand to rock the runway were Vania Couture who are a fairly new occasion dress brand. They make bespoke wedding and occasion wear dresses designed just for you. The brand came about because Vania, the owner of the brand couldn't find that perfect wedding dress so decided to make it herself and loved the experience of choosing every detail so it was perfect for her. There were some gorgeous dresses on the runway so check out their website if you have a prom or you are getting wed yourself as this could be just what you are looking for.

My camera went crazy with the dozens of cameras all flashing at once so these images look like I've edited them in a funny way but that's just how they turned out. I quite like them to be honest, very artsy! I can assure no one has the same images ha!
I then went snooping around the Tweet Boutique section upstairs and accidentally missed the rest of the fashion show but I had a nice time meeting new brands and chatting to other bloggers. Fiorelli had a tweet shop where you had to tweet an image with one of their bags to them and they would pick their favourites to win them. I tweeted them this image with the black bag and thats what I won yay! I was super happy as I never win anything and its a super cute and sturdy bag. I haven't heard of the brand before but I'm definitely going to check them out as all their bags were gorgeous!

On the left I am wearing a Nina Rai couture headband which I think is amazing! I would look so good if you went to the races or something. Its something different from your typical headpiece. I love that its grey (my favourite colour at the moment) It's just too pretty!

Now I'm going to tempt you all with a chocolate cupcake! How delicious does this look? yum! Cupcakes are always good at events as a good pick me up if you have rushed from work or travelled from far and didn't have time for anything, although a little naughty!

I also came across this brand Oxygenetix who were showing us some breathable foundation they had created which is meant to help a variety of skin problems from rashes to acne. This has actually been used on hospital patients with facial scars to a create a full coverage look so you feel more confident without it looking like you have anything on. On first impressions I can say it does make it look like you but with better skin only after a while I could feel itching? I'm not sure if this was my skin getting used to the ingredients or that it's not good for sensitive skin. I'm going to give it another go and report back.

Here are a few more images of the fashion show I managed to get which didn't go too crazy with thr flashes. I really enjoyed my time at the event and I'm looking forward to more in the future. It's a great way to get insight into new and upcoming brands and meet other like minded bloggers too! If your a blogger yourself I would highly recommend you try going to an event yourself.

I hope you enjoyed this post

Lifestyle | #BLFW Pre-Party

7 September 2014
So as you may have been on social media and the blogosphere in general. There has been a few bloggers events lately, one of the main ones being Bloggers Love Fashion Week. This is a chance for bloggers who are mainly fashion and beauty based to attend an event to see up and coming brands showcase their A/W collections.

I went to the pre-party and so I thought I would show you some of the pictures I got while I was there although I was talking a lot of the time so I didn't get as many as I wanted but I'm not keen on posts being too photo heavy anyway. When we got there we got ourselves a blog inspired cocktail and then started mingling around the room talking to bloggers and brands alike.

The aim of the pre-party was to get other bloggers to network so when it came to fashion week some of us knew each other because whats better than making some new blogger friends? There were also different booths available where advice was given on blogging, vlogging and taking photographs which was extremely helpful. I'm using the advice now to help shape my blog into the blog I want it to be, so thank you very much for your words of wisdom LDN Bloggers.

One of the brands there which was very much to my taste was Ellie Air Jewellery. She handmakes every piece of jewellery in her studio which means that one will never be exactly the same. The style is very minimalist which I think is totally gorgeous! Just look at that ring! They are over at ellieair.co.uk if you want to check out more of their collection.

Sitting in the middle of the event was the most amazing sweet bar which most of us couldn't stop eating! The best part was that they were all pink in colour which made it just as amazing to look as it was eating them. I put some into bags to eat at home as I'm not the most elegant of people when it comes to sweets!

This is what me a Jough (partner in crime) wore to the event. Jough was wearing an ASOS dress with Topshop boots and I was wearing a Topshop top and skirt with my beloved New Look Shoes and Miss Selfridge clutch.

We met some lovely girls that night who we chatted away to most of the time. It was such a lovely event and it makes blogging all worth while as this is the reason I am blogging in the first place. I'm so socially awkward which you will notice if you meet me but once I feel comfortable hopefully that isn't that case.

I hope you enjoyed snooping at some of the photos. If you want to see a particular thing when I go to another event please let me know so I can make sure I get snapping when I'm there.
Thank you to Bloggers Love for the amazing evening and to all the lovely bloggers who attended and got the privilege to meet. Tomorrow I'll be posting an extra post of the few snaps I got from Day 2 of the fashion week, so keep a look out.

Curl it! Baby!

Oh Hello there! I hope you've all had a great week and your enjoying your weekend?
This is my first week of scheduled posts, where I'm trying to post 3 days a week because I want my blog to become something better than what it is and the only way to do that is by improving it!

So the first thing is to upload more time a week with each post being scheduled to a particular niche, so you guys know what your getting when I upload. I said initially that my beauty posts were going to be on Saturdays but this week has been one of the busiest and I feel like my head is going to explode with do to lists so I decided I would write it up now as I have a bit of time before I need to get packing boxes. I am moving house at the end of the month and there is so much to sort out I don't even want to think about it as I might just be sick ha! oh the worries of being a proper adult!

Today I thought I would tell you about my new hair curler as I have had a few people ask about my hair and what I use (even random girls while I've been shopping) and so I thought I would share my new purchase with you incase you wanted one yourself. I've been craving a new hair curler for the longest time but I never got around to buying one until I went to a wedding not so long ago and saw my friend with the prettiest hair! I asked my friend what she uses on her hair and she told me it was this Babyliss 2285CU curling wand. I was surprised to see it was Babyliss as a few hair styling products I've tried before haven't been up to scratch but off to Amazon I went and brought the wand for £24.99.

It didn't take long before I whipped this bad boy out to give it a whirl as it got delivered super quickly! This is a conical styling wand which gives the effect of free-flowing curls, a glove is provided in the box but I've already lost this..opps! The wand has a few heat settings to choose from depending on the curl you want but I would recommend 195 setting and let your hair drop a little as it makes the process a lot quicker. It actually goes up to 210 but I find that too hot. So you just grab inch sections of hair, wrap it around the wand and hey presto! You've got yourself a lovely head of free-flowing curled hair.

They look like ringlets when you first curl your hair but once it has dropped a little and you've smoothed them out, the results are lovely. The barrel length is actually a really good size on this, especially if you have long hair like me. (I have enough room to wrap all my hair around it). This honestly didn't take me very long to achieve the look I wanted and so to get away from my naturally dead straight hair I've been using this a lot and I'm really enjoying the results it gives me.

The main thing about this wand, which is a massive plus is that even though the curls drop, its still curled and not a huge mess at the end of the which I have never achieved before. This is now my new best friend and we will be seen together a lot in the next few months.

Here's the finished look! I couldn't help taking some l'oreal inspired hair photos for you guys as I just love the way it moves and to be honest I really did feel like beyonce in some of these! So sassy!

I hope you enjoyed todays post! I definitely enjoyed taking the photos if you can't tell.
You can buy the Babyliss wand here and I'm so jel as you can now get it for £19.99!!

Let me know if you buy it and what looks you achieve with it as I'd love to see!
Catch you tomorrow

What I Wore Wednesdays #BLFW

3 September 2014
Happy Wednesday guys! Its mid-week already yay! So wednesdays are going to be when I post about fashion, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled each week for something new. Todays outfit is for Bloggers Love Fashion week #BLFW which I am attending this evening. It's a really great way to meet new bloggers and brands and you also get the chance to meet some fellow friends from Twitter. I'm excited to see whats in store so keep a look out for a post on it on Monday.
As it's bloggers fashion week, lots outfits are prepped in the hopes of creating an outfit you love!
I wanted to dress for this transition period of summer to autumn so I thought mixing colours with monochrome would be the perfect way! I found this dress in Topshop the other week and I love it!
From the bold print to the pops of colour, it has ME written all over it!

I have seen this style of shoe everywhere and if you have seen lots of my posts you would know I am addicted to my white chunky heels from New Look. While in Topshop, I found a pair which were £55 but knowing New Look have a great shoe section I thought I would have a look just incase. There at the bottom of the shelf were a few pairs of these left, I tried them on and fell in love. They are just as comfy as my white pair and they look cute too. New Look...I love you!

I paired the outfit with colourful nail polish and my new yellow clutch from Miss Selfridge and I was done. I am so happy with the outcome minus my pasty legs but I'm going to roll with it as I have no time to tan. To finish off the look I curled my hair with my new curling wand which is an absolute dream! A new post on that is coming soon so keep a look out on Saturdays when I post about beauty.

I cant wait to meet some of you at #BLFW
Catch you soon
