Beauty | Autumn Nail Varnish Picks

21 September 2014
Today I thought I would share with you my Autumn polish picks from my collection that I will be grabbing a lot over the nest few months. This month has been one of the craziest yet and we're only half way through! Its nice to say I can actually relax and do what I want today, no packing or worrying about setting up the internet. Just a day of seeing family and getting my head back together, I'll carry on worrying tomorrow...

First up are my more 'Autumn' colours. Pink and red hues are perfect transitional colours into the colder months and represent the October leaves as they start to turn those gorgeous golden colours.

Ciate Mini in Boudoir is a red polish I tend to always grab, even in the warmer months but giving that its perfect for A/W, especially with a matching red lip I have an even better excuse to wear it even more. This is what I would call a pillarbox red so it would suit any skin tone and it lasts pretty well on the nail too!

Topshop in Blitz it one of my all time favourites. I havent seen online in a while so I'm not sure if its discontinued or if it will come back in stock, but it needs to! This is such a gorgeous magenta toned polish with gold and green sparkle running through it, which reflects perfectly in the light. Great for parties or evenings out or to add some glamour to your everyday look.

Kiko in 243 plum red is a new addition to my collection. As the name tell you its a plum red shade which is the perfect amount of purple to red ratio which I just love on my fair skintone.
Avon in Noir Emerald is THE most gorgeous colour! Everything about this polish is perfect from the radiant shimmer to the blue mermaid like hues running through it! Get on my nails please and never come off!

Topshop in Plume is another gorgeous metallic which I can't get enough of. Perfect for when it hits party season and the LBDs come out. This is quite an icy metallic colour, full of shimmer and different hues of colour which changes colour in different light. I personally love the pink flect running through it, its just so pretty I cant take my eyes off it.

Topshop in Awol is the nicest hue of blue I have come across in a nail varnish, I just love how bright it is without being too summery. I thought it would be the perfect colour when I want to mix it up a bit with my dark metallics.

What is your favourite A/W nail polish?

MWNails Experience

28 June 2014

For my birthday in April my bestie Ellie, got me a voucher for this nail bar in Shoreditch, London called MWNails. The voucher was like an airport ticket and once I had a gander online I saw that it was themed around an airport/holiday destination and the inside was decorated out as an aeroplane. How cool! I knew I was going to book a holiday around June time and the voucher ran out in July so I thought, 'why not save it so I can have holiday nails' ...perfect!

So I booked a holiday to Tenerife! I'm on it now if your reading this and I started prepping what I was going to wear etc. (if you check back on my old posts you will see a haul of some of the clothes I brought) and I had quite a lot of blue and pink running throughout so I knew I wanted to include these colour in my mani somewhere.

So time just flew by and it was June before I knew it! Ellies birthday was coming up and so I thought why not get them dont together for the holiday and it can be my present to her. The plan was made and we just needed to decide what to have done. (As they do nail art at this bar which I was really excited about.)

The day came and we had printed off some pictures and we both ended up going with the same thing ha! We always have the same taste in stuff. We went to the bar, got seated and picked our colours for the mani to begin. We got seated really quickly, the seats were comfy and I really liked the relaxed vibe of the place. We got the 'Perfect Panama' mani which included a nail shape and prep, then we got the most relaxing hand massage and hot towel press. It was heaven!

She told me how she was going to do the mani and checked with me that if I was happy along the way. Nothing seemed too much trouble while we were there which was nice as some places can make you feel quite rushed. They used a technique where they added the polish to a sponge and dabbed it on to get the ombre effect, this was repeated a few times to get the desired opacity.

Once dry I asked for a feather to be added to each ring finger to just make it a bit more special and I was really happy with how that came out. Ellie had some palm tree silhouettes added to go with our holiday theme. I liked how they wouldn't say no to something they hadn't done before, they would find a way around doing the design you want, which is satisfying for future reference.

All in all I was really pleased with my experience and I definitely would go there again if I was getting my nails done for an occasion or if I got another voucher. Its nice to have someone pamper your hands and nails for you and with a result your happy with. This is definitely a good experience for a fun girly pamper day, you just need a little retail therapy and a chick flick to complete your day.

Last of all, because it was Ellie's birthday I wanted to make her some 'Monster Cookies' which have become very popular where I work. Thank you Vivianna Does Make Up for the recipe! I used an old Glossybox, wrapped the top in some paper I got from next and placed the cookies inside. It made a lovely gift, which I will do for future friends and family.

I'm off to finish my holiday prep now so I'll see you when I get back
(I'm already on holiday, laying by the pool with a cocktail in hand :P)

See ya!

These are a few photos (taken on my iphone so excuse the poor quality) taken from the night.
I thought I would share these with you because if your as nosey as I am then you would want to see them. Most of the guys in the photos you would have seen before if not check them out! They are awesome! This guy above, Harry is brilliant! I love his personality and you can tell he doesn't care what anyone thinks, which I love in a person. I'm looking forward to more events where I can meet more people like this.

Zoe London was the DJ for the night as she had some awesome tunes so it was lovely to finally meet her. I've been watching videos of Fun For Louis for ages now and I find his attitude to life really inspiring and hes such a nice guy! Jough is my first proper blogger friend as we met at uni and been friends since, we both love reading and watching blogs so you'll normally see us together at events, she's a babe! Leanne Lim Walker has amazing style I wish I could pull off and I've mainly been following her through Instagram as I'm addicted, make sure you follow her too!

I then through in our temporary tattoos by Sun Seekers and our nail art by Colour Riot nails.
You can find them on instagram and twitter if you want to buy some of the tattoos or book a
nail art party (what a good idea) through them.

I've linked everyones names so you go have a look at what they do...

I'm off to bake some chocolate cookies for my best friends birthday!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Happy Friday!

Here are a few favourites that I've been loving throughout May. I've been a right busy bee and I honestly don't know where time has gone, its quite scary its already summer. These are the items I've been grabbing most lately while I've been rushing round like a headless chicken and I just love them all! I've got so many compliments on the Alien perfume which I'm really happy about as its a firm favourite of mine, my signature scent one might say (poshest accent)

I have really got into peppermint tea lately as I have found it calms my stomach in the evening.
I've been having it in this awesome 'Pugs not Drugs' mug I got for my birthday and I just
ove it and can we just talk about those biscuits! OMG blueberry muffin flavoured by Fox's,
the best biscuits ever!

I'm really loving Tanya's cosmetics at the moment! Her lipgloss smells amazing and has great application and the nail varnishes glide on so smooth and the colours are gorgeous! I even managed to paint them on the train today, I cant wait to see if she brings out more in her collection!

I'm going to the Horse Races tomorrow in Epping which I'm excited about, I hope I get a peak of the Queen in her box! I've never seen her in real life before! Hopefully the weather holds out until the evening but Im sure I will enjoy it non the less and I'm going to do some house chores on saturday and maybe do a little holiday shopping, so excited for my holiday to Tenerife this year! Only 2 weeks and 4 days to go and theres lots I need to organise.

I hope you enjoy your weekend!
See you
