Lifestyle | A weekend in Paris

8 October 2014

So last month I was lucky enough to go to Paris to see my favourite artist, Beyonce!
Since I knew she was doing the 'On The Run' tour I really wanted to go, especially as Jay Z would be performing with her. They are the cutest couple together so I knew this was going to be one amazing show. I booked the tickets ages ago and then asked if anyone wanted to come with me. Everyone was busy and I was a little worried about going on my own but a month away until the show my mum realised she could make it, which made me super excited!

The day dawned and I couldn't wait! A weekend in Paris and an amazing show all in just a few days. We stayed in an Air BnB apartment which was amazing, the host was wonderful and it was in the cutest french courtyard so we really got a feel for the parisian lifestyle. Lots of laughs were had and we managed to explore a lot of Paris in the time we were there. The weather was so gorgeous, the food was amazing and the architecture was just beautiful. I could easily get used to the laid back lifestyle, it was bliss!

The show was the best I have ever experienced, I want to cry very time I watch it back! Most of the show I was just standing there is awe of what I was watching, the singing, dancing and the way it was put together to tell a story of their life together was incredible! I cant quite get over it.

Here is a vlog from my time in Paris. I annoyingly lost some footage of the first day there but this gives a good roundup of what happened. I hope you like it and please visit Paris one day. You definitely will not regret it!

Curl it! Baby!

7 September 2014
Oh Hello there! I hope you've all had a great week and your enjoying your weekend?
This is my first week of scheduled posts, where I'm trying to post 3 days a week because I want my blog to become something better than what it is and the only way to do that is by improving it!

So the first thing is to upload more time a week with each post being scheduled to a particular niche, so you guys know what your getting when I upload. I said initially that my beauty posts were going to be on Saturdays but this week has been one of the busiest and I feel like my head is going to explode with do to lists so I decided I would write it up now as I have a bit of time before I need to get packing boxes. I am moving house at the end of the month and there is so much to sort out I don't even want to think about it as I might just be sick ha! oh the worries of being a proper adult!

Today I thought I would tell you about my new hair curler as I have had a few people ask about my hair and what I use (even random girls while I've been shopping) and so I thought I would share my new purchase with you incase you wanted one yourself. I've been craving a new hair curler for the longest time but I never got around to buying one until I went to a wedding not so long ago and saw my friend with the prettiest hair! I asked my friend what she uses on her hair and she told me it was this Babyliss 2285CU curling wand. I was surprised to see it was Babyliss as a few hair styling products I've tried before haven't been up to scratch but off to Amazon I went and brought the wand for £24.99.

It didn't take long before I whipped this bad boy out to give it a whirl as it got delivered super quickly! This is a conical styling wand which gives the effect of free-flowing curls, a glove is provided in the box but I've already lost this..opps! The wand has a few heat settings to choose from depending on the curl you want but I would recommend 195 setting and let your hair drop a little as it makes the process a lot quicker. It actually goes up to 210 but I find that too hot. So you just grab inch sections of hair, wrap it around the wand and hey presto! You've got yourself a lovely head of free-flowing curled hair.

They look like ringlets when you first curl your hair but once it has dropped a little and you've smoothed them out, the results are lovely. The barrel length is actually a really good size on this, especially if you have long hair like me. (I have enough room to wrap all my hair around it). This honestly didn't take me very long to achieve the look I wanted and so to get away from my naturally dead straight hair I've been using this a lot and I'm really enjoying the results it gives me.

The main thing about this wand, which is a massive plus is that even though the curls drop, its still curled and not a huge mess at the end of the which I have never achieved before. This is now my new best friend and we will be seen together a lot in the next few months.

Here's the finished look! I couldn't help taking some l'oreal inspired hair photos for you guys as I just love the way it moves and to be honest I really did feel like beyonce in some of these! So sassy!

I hope you enjoyed todays post! I definitely enjoyed taking the photos if you can't tell.
You can buy the Babyliss wand here and I'm so jel as you can now get it for £19.99!!

Let me know if you buy it and what looks you achieve with it as I'd love to see!
Catch you tomorrow

I have so many videos at the moment! I'm loving it though :)

KhrissieLoves... Vlogging Pt. 2 (holiday edition)

14 July 2014

Evening Ladies & Gentlemen!

Here I have Part 2 of my vlog as I had to separate the footage as there way too much! It's been so fun trying to learn how to edit these things, and I still have lots to learn but hopefully its watchable without being too annoying?

I seem to talk a lot in these vlogs ha! It was my first ever vlogging session and I didnt really have a plan on how it was going to come together, so this is me just being me! We play mini golf and get a little bit crazy at the end of the video....

Part. 3 will be uploaded next weekend.
I hope your enjoying this little holiday series and if you want more just let me know

Are any of you heading off on holiday this summer?
Or have yu already been somewhere. Let me know as I love hearing
about your recommendations

Khrissie Loves...Vlogging Pt.1 (Holiday Edition)

6 July 2014

Happy Sunday!

So as you might have known if you have seen any of my social media last week, that I have been having a whale of a time on holiday with my wonderful friend Ellie. We normally plan a spontaneous holiday and this is our third one which is yet again in the Canary Islands. We just can't keep away and we now have a plan to make sure we visit all of them at some point.

As I have just started my blog, finally! I thought, why not vlog it? You get a better feel of the place rather than bombarding a post with too many photos I couldn't even be bothered to sift through. I'm not a very confident person and can be quite the introvert but I am doing this blog to change that and hopefully help my anxiety a bit more. I was quite surprised with how quickly I picked it up and I really didn't mind too much about talking with other people around. I think London would be a different feeling all together though.

I have added a few random photos into the post too as I didn't take too many as I was vlogging or relaxing by the pool most of the time! Oh how I'm dreaming up my next holiday. This is my first ever vlogging and video editing experience and although I've had to learn as I went on, I've managed to get this first bit done over some spare time over the last 2 days which I am pretty happy with.

Please let me know any feedback because I of course want to get better at this as its a skill I'm really enjoying learning. I hope you enjoy seeing a little bit into my time on holiday and look out for part 2 which will be up next week.

Best Dressed: Met Ball 2014

7 May 2014
Looking at celebrities choice of dresses are the first thing we want to see at any event, judging their risky or safe decisions and lusting over gorgeous couples. I've picked a few of my favourites to share with you, mainly so I can keep a record of dresses/celebrities I want to lust over myself!

Beyoncé wore a Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci dress with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery

I am a HUGE Beyoncé fan...She IS the queen and she didnt let me down, head-to-toe glamourous & what a hot power couple they are! I'm just waiting for the day Blue Ivy is old enough to grace the red carpets.
Sarah Jessica Parker – one of the ball’s co-chairs – wore a custom-made Oscar de la Renta gown

I just love this monochrome gown with matching hair piece on SJP! Sex & the City vibes all over.
Now lets make a cuppa tea and get the movie on quick, I need more...

Cara Delevingne wore a top and trousers both by Stella McCartneySource: http://www.vogue.co.uk/ & https://www.google.co.uk/search

Stella McCartney done good this year! All the girls look amazing but I particularly love Cara's look. I'm more of a trouser person, which I've realised in the last month so this is a great alternative to a dress.  Stella herself  has pulled of an interesting number. It really shows off her style and personality which I love.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in a Balmain autumn/winter 2014 dress

The gala ball isn't just about long dresses, if you have great legs like Rosie you can pull of anything. I just love this piece which was seen on the catwalk. It has a real hard edge to it but the shape still makes it feminine for a real girly grunge look.

Janelle Monae wore an outfit by Tadashi Shoji
Source: http://www.vogue.co.uk/ & https://www.google.co.uk/search

Ok so I'm realising that I'm loving most of the non-gown outfits. And damn this girl has style! Its full of personality & thats the most amazing cape I've seen. Red riding hood has hit the 21st century and I want a piece of that!

Dita von Teese wore a Zac Posen gown
Source: http://www.vogue.co.uk/ & https://www.google.co.uk/search

Last in my selection, even though I was impressed by quite a few of them this year, is Dita Von Teese. Not everyone can pull this off but boy those curves and that flat stomach! This really shows off her glamourous style which never seems to let us down. Her paring of the red with her lipstick and clutch finish off this look to a T! Good job!

As well as some amazing looks which I have shown, there have also been the outfits which not everyone agrees on but you all know that for yourself. I hope you have enjoyed my selection and I look forward to the Met Ball 2015!

See Ya'll next time....
