Summer Favourite - No7 BB Cream

15 August 2015

I'm going through one of those stages at the moment where I hate the feel of makeup on my face. As soon as I have foundation on my skin I want to take it off and I think this is because I have started going to the gym in the mornings without makeup on and it feels invigorating to not have to worry about what you look like in front of strangers.

On my weekly hunt in Boots for makeup, which is one of my favourite things to do. I tweeted and asked if anyone had an foundation recommendations for oily/sensitive skin. Someone mentioned about the No7 foundation as they loved the coverage. I went to check out the stall, not because of the coverage but because I had completely forgot about the brand. I completely love their advertising but in terms of in store stand out, I never gravitate towards it.
As I was having a little browse, this little number caught my eye. Now I have never been a fan of BB creams in the past as they are always way too orange for my fairly pale skin tone, plus the consistencies of them can be a bit off putting. I gave the little tester a go and the colour didn't seem too bad and the consistency was velvety smooth.

Since that day I have been in love. Now for a pale girl, the colour can seem quite dark but I have actually been mixing this with 'Wake me up' concealer for a radiant glow and it has made the perfect tone for me. The coverage is enough to even out my skin tone but not too much so I feel I have a lot on my skin. It has UV protection, which is always a plus side for me and it hasn't given me any breakouts yet which is a no1 win in my books.

I have just been blending this onto my skin with my fingers, adding a touch of concealer on my breakouts with a dash of highlighting blush and a lashing of mascara, oh and lets not forget the brows. Hello no makeup, makeup look in just a few easy steps! The BB cream blends really nicely and doesn't have too much of a fragrance. I would say it smells like moisturiser which is quite a nice smell to me. There are also two other types of this BB cream for normal and dry skin, so there is something to suit everyone.

What makeup have you been loving lately? I would love to hear any recommendations, especially with new launches.

Have a wonderful week!

A day out in Battersea: Formula-E Racing

28 June 2015
Me & Nick in an electric mini car! How cute!

Hello & Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope your all doing well and you had an amazing weekend! There was lots going on in London the whole weekend so I'm sure lots of you were up to something. I sadly didn't get tickets in time to see the queen herself, Taylor Swift, which I am super sad about so I decided to go to a Formula E event instead.

Formula E is like formula 1 racing but with smaller and quieter electric vehicles. It was held at Battersea park which was a great location as you could chill in the E-Village during the day in the beautiful park until the races started at around 4pm. Around the park were little stalls full of electric related products, like the car in the image above. It was really interesting to see the future of what electricity can do while walking around in the beautiful sunshine.

I made a vlog of the day, lots of me talking and some clips of the race. I want to get into vlogging if I can as I feel a little more confident to do it more now, its just the camera I'm using isn't the best quality but its all I can use for now so bare with me. I hope its not too boring, I never like the sound of my own voice but hopefully I'll improve over time. Do let me know any feedback.

I hope you enjoy the vlog and comment down below if you have any questions.
Enjoy your week guys,

Khrissie Loves: Statement Necklaces

3 November 2014

Miss Selfridge £3.50 (in the sale)

 New Look £7.99

Primark £8

Lately I've been loving the idea of wearing something really simple and jazzing it up with a statement necklace and some fur. Being able to wear an outfit from day to night is the ideal when you have not got time to go home and change.

Adding something which will glam up your look and make you feel that little bit more confident is what we all want, so when your next browsing the shops, have a look at what necklaces they have to offer and give them a go, you'll be surprised what it can do for you.

Love

Style | Modern Gothic

24 September 2014
So as A/W sets in and the weather starts getting cooler, the new trends start appearing in the shops. I'm not a massive trend follower, I just wear what I like and end up getting a few pieces over the months that I see and end up realising there are certain trends I like.

Looking at whats coming up in A/W is always my favourite as they are my favourite months as I find I always feel comfortable and confident in warm but stylish clothing. I decide to embrace a new trend to see how I could style it as I want to get better at that so I took on the 'modern victorian' trend and make it my own in a way that I would wear it!
What I like about this trend is that its basically mixing lace with black textures which really appealed to me. So online I went and in my wardrobe I searched for clothes, to see what I could come up with and this is the final outcome. I ended up really loving the trend and I can't wait to get more pieces this season to start mixing my own girly/grunge looks which is the kinds of look I normally go for anyway.

ASOS / Pretty Midi Skater Dress  / Vintage Necklace / Belt
River Island / Coat
New Look / White chunky heels

I hope you like the look! Let me know if you want to style up any other trends?
What trends have you been loving lately?

Lifestyle | #BLFW Pre-Party

7 September 2014
So as you may have been on social media and the blogosphere in general. There has been a few bloggers events lately, one of the main ones being Bloggers Love Fashion Week. This is a chance for bloggers who are mainly fashion and beauty based to attend an event to see up and coming brands showcase their A/W collections.

I went to the pre-party and so I thought I would show you some of the pictures I got while I was there although I was talking a lot of the time so I didn't get as many as I wanted but I'm not keen on posts being too photo heavy anyway. When we got there we got ourselves a blog inspired cocktail and then started mingling around the room talking to bloggers and brands alike.

The aim of the pre-party was to get other bloggers to network so when it came to fashion week some of us knew each other because whats better than making some new blogger friends? There were also different booths available where advice was given on blogging, vlogging and taking photographs which was extremely helpful. I'm using the advice now to help shape my blog into the blog I want it to be, so thank you very much for your words of wisdom LDN Bloggers.

One of the brands there which was very much to my taste was Ellie Air Jewellery. She handmakes every piece of jewellery in her studio which means that one will never be exactly the same. The style is very minimalist which I think is totally gorgeous! Just look at that ring! They are over at ellieair.co.uk if you want to check out more of their collection.

Sitting in the middle of the event was the most amazing sweet bar which most of us couldn't stop eating! The best part was that they were all pink in colour which made it just as amazing to look as it was eating them. I put some into bags to eat at home as I'm not the most elegant of people when it comes to sweets!

This is what me a Jough (partner in crime) wore to the event. Jough was wearing an ASOS dress with Topshop boots and I was wearing a Topshop top and skirt with my beloved New Look Shoes and Miss Selfridge clutch.

We met some lovely girls that night who we chatted away to most of the time. It was such a lovely event and it makes blogging all worth while as this is the reason I am blogging in the first place. I'm so socially awkward which you will notice if you meet me but once I feel comfortable hopefully that isn't that case.

I hope you enjoyed snooping at some of the photos. If you want to see a particular thing when I go to another event please let me know so I can make sure I get snapping when I'm there.
Thank you to Bloggers Love for the amazing evening and to all the lovely bloggers who attended and got the privilege to meet. Tomorrow I'll be posting an extra post of the few snaps I got from Day 2 of the fashion week, so keep a look out.

What I Wore Wednesdays #BLFW

3 September 2014
Happy Wednesday guys! Its mid-week already yay! So wednesdays are going to be when I post about fashion, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled each week for something new. Todays outfit is for Bloggers Love Fashion week #BLFW which I am attending this evening. It's a really great way to meet new bloggers and brands and you also get the chance to meet some fellow friends from Twitter. I'm excited to see whats in store so keep a look out for a post on it on Monday.
As it's bloggers fashion week, lots outfits are prepped in the hopes of creating an outfit you love!
I wanted to dress for this transition period of summer to autumn so I thought mixing colours with monochrome would be the perfect way! I found this dress in Topshop the other week and I love it!
From the bold print to the pops of colour, it has ME written all over it!

I have seen this style of shoe everywhere and if you have seen lots of my posts you would know I am addicted to my white chunky heels from New Look. While in Topshop, I found a pair which were £55 but knowing New Look have a great shoe section I thought I would have a look just incase. There at the bottom of the shelf were a few pairs of these left, I tried them on and fell in love. They are just as comfy as my white pair and they look cute too. New Look...I love you!

I paired the outfit with colourful nail polish and my new yellow clutch from Miss Selfridge and I was done. I am so happy with the outcome minus my pasty legs but I'm going to roll with it as I have no time to tan. To finish off the look I curled my hair with my new curling wand which is an absolute dream! A new post on that is coming soon so keep a look out on Saturdays when I post about beauty.

I cant wait to meet some of you at #BLFW
Catch you soon

5 July 2014

(These are shot in quite bright daylight so the contrast is a bit crazy but I cant ignore the beautiful weather)
Wearing:
Top / Urban Outfitters
Jeans / H&M
Shoes / New look

Hello there!

So its the first weekend in July and I cant believe it! I know most people say this but life really is going to quick. I've been in Tenerife that last week as you may have seen through my social media and it was the nicest, most relaxing week ever! I'm definitely going through a stage of holiday blues but I've been so busy since I got back I haven't had a chance to just sit down and chill to get over it. This is the first time I've been able to sit and relax a little and I'm not going to lie, all I want to do today is lay in bed and watch 'Orange is the new black' and eat ice cream, as I'm completely shattered.

Theres so much I want to do with my blog and so many posts that need sorting but I really dont have enough time, as theres only so much daylight for shooting in the day as well as needing to do two whole loads of washing as I dont have anything to wear at the moment, so shameful!

Theres always overwhelming days in life but I'll soon sort myself out and be right back on track with everything, I'm sure of it! I'm also trying to learn how to edit videos as I vlogged a lot of little clips while on holiday and I've managed a little bit so far but I'm trying to get all the transitions right and do I add a intro page? do I add music? Its all up in the air but I'm really enjoying learning a new skill.

I'm going to have a little break and catch up on some programmes (eh-hem! OITNB) and then try and learn some more editing skills! Have a lovely weekend and dont feel ashamed if you want to stay in and be a little lazy too as we all need a break from the real world at some point!

Have a lovely weekend whatever you decide.

Company Blogger Awards Outfit Pt.1

22 June 2014

Outfit / New Look
Floral Skort Playsuit / £24.99
Lipstick / Revlon Lacquer Balm in Vivacious

I was really pleased when I saw a tweet that Company were selling tickets to the Company Style Blogger Awards as I had seen photos last year and it looked like a lot of fun, plus its a great networking event where you can meet lots of people with the same interest as you. Me and my friend Jough (who is starting her own blog too: musium) have just started our blogs and even though they are at very early stages, it was nice to start meeting people from the blogging community and build up contacts.

I knew I needed an outfit for the event and I didn't have anything I thought was right so I went shopping with my best friend and found all of this is New Look, pretty much straight away. I love it! It's so comfy and there's other occasions I need an outfit for and this would be perfect for those too, so I know I'm going to get good wear out of it.

I really did have the best time at the Style Awards and I got to meet lots of new people, and people I have been fan girling over for a while. (FunForLouis, Leanne Lim Walker, What Olivia Did, Wish Wish Wish) I never expected to be so nervous to meet them but I was so happy I got the courage. I suffer with social anxiety and I know its something I really need to get over but this really helped me realise my fears are all in my head. (I will create a Pt.2 version with some pictures from the night)

I enjoyed the sponsored companies that were at the event like Sun Seekers who are a new company that make silver and gold temporary tattoos, which are amazing! Colour Riot Nails who were giving us all the perfect manicures and specialise in nail art, I couldn't have been happier and Lee Stafford which were giving us girls festival inspired hair which I loved! She used this funny shaped wand on my hair and  I loved the effect. Its now my mission to try and find out what it is.

Good Job Company Magazine for putting on a wonderful night and Congratulations to all the bloggers who were nominated, shortlisted, highly commended and who won! I've realised its so much hard work to keep a blog going, especially when you have other things going on so well done to each and everyone of you who are making it in the world!

See ya!

S/S Clothing & Beaty Haul

14 June 2014

OMG! I think I went a little crazy buying things these last few weeks! I always change my style and I'm still experimenting, I think I always will. This is just what happens when your a girl. I'm going to have to be careful as I need to make sure I feed myself still! ha! I need to get my priorities straight :) There so many nice things in Forever 21 at the moment as its so affordable. I highly recommend checking it out if you can! If your in london go to the one in Sratford, Westfield.

I LOVE everything I got by my favourite pieces by far are the cream playsuit with the clutch and shoes! The shoes are a real love/hate thing but I really love them! I think their awesome and will make any outfit a little bit fancier.

I'm so excited for my holiday! I'm going to Tenerife with my bestie and I'm really hoping I can swim with dolphins as its been a dream since I was 10 years old! Laying on the beach with a cocktail in your hand is anyones summer dream and I can wait for it to be a reality.
I hope you get some holiday inspiration from this as I've grouped them into outfits, happy shopping!

Have a lovely weekend!
